What's New For 2022?
No changes are expected throughout the 2022 model year for the Mazda3, while the previous version did see some significant upgrades. That was especially apparent with the two new engines that made their debut, with the base four-cylinder delivering more pop and an optional turbocharged engine giving your Mazda3 a really nice boost in performance and power. Recently the Mazda3 also added an optional all-wheel drive system, which really rounds out this fun small sedan or hatchback.
Performance and Technology
Including the pair of new engines that made their debut last year, the 2022 Mazda3 offers three distinct powertrain options. The base is an efficient 2.0-liter four-cylinder, rated at 155 horsepower, while moving up to the 2.5-liter four-cylinder will boost your output to 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. For really strong performance levels, the available turbocharged 2.5-liter four will top out at 250 horsepower, while some versions allow the addition of an AWD system.
On the tech front, you'll find all of the usual Mazda infotainment features with your new Mazda3. A starting display screen with rotary knob controls and a standard suite of safety features, which includes forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist, among others.
